Our Story
K2: Providing electrical services since 1985
K2
It took me a long time to choose the name – my passion is mountains and the obvious is Everest – but that was too easy and there are a lot of ‘Everest’ companies. K2 is the second highest mountain in the world and to many in the mountain community the hardest…
Andy Ewels (owner)
I started working for myself in September 1985 having completed a JIB 5-year apprenticeship with GG Fredericks, a local well regarded company.
I always remember that the first couple of years were an amazing learning curve having no one to ask, and not just electrical work but customer relations, bookkeeping and tax to name a few!
After working on my own, I took on my first employee and over the next few years I had a small team of electricians. The next natural step was to repay the industry and take on an apprentice. I was given an opportunity and want to give someone else the same chance. Sean is still in the industry we catch up every now and then – a very good electrician.
Over the years that followed I have had numerous apprentices and a few adults in retraining. In 2003 I created a limited company – now having a family I wanted to protect them – and so started trading as K2 Electrical Services in 2004.
